The entire faith community is responsible for giving young people a voice and place where they can grow as disciples of Christ in the world. St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Parish attempts to:

*empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in the world today by providing faith formation and catechesis through our religious Education programs. Youth are encouraged and invited to gather as a community as they continue on their own faith journeys.

*to draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the Catholic faith community through stewardship projects and Lenten programs that enable the young to minister within the parish and in the community at large. Projects include serving at various parish events, visiting elderly shut ins at Christmas and assisting at a local food bank.

*to foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person through activities that are social and faith based. Such activities include movie nights, Thinkfast projects and retreats.
The newly formed Youth Committee is made up of parishioners who believe that the future of a vibrant church is the formation and growth of our youth. To provide as many opportunities as possible to aid in the spiritual and relational growth of our young people.

Upcoming events/projects include:
- Movie night
- Stewardship projects: Pancake supper, Religious Education Assistant, Taize prayer assistant
- Steubenville Atlantic - August

Youth Programs focus on students in senior high school or university, and young adults.  Contact: Parish office 876-2235.

Existing programs include:
    •World Youth Days Group – prepare and fundraise for pilgrims to attend World Youth Days.

    •Special Events – organize, prepare and support youth to attend “Cornerstone”, Steubenville East Conference, Archdiocesan camps and activities, CCO “Rise-Up” Conference, and other youth events in the area.

    •Ministry Preparation – encouragement, training and support for youth who take part in any of the ongoing parish ministries.

 

There is much happening with our youth these days, and much more yet to be tapped!! Our Youth Ministry is always looking for youth leaders and interested adults who would like to join in this high-energy endeavor.
