Holy Apostles Parish Mass Times

Holy Apostles Parish Church Opening

Sunday Mass

Our parish will start with one Mass open for all parishioners on Sundays, starting July 19th at 11 am in St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church. You must pre-register each week to attend (see below). We will open the other churches and add Masses as teams are organized, protocols are met and, until Father Roberto's return, Father Paul is able to schedule. For further details see below. Please note that, for all those who are unable to attend in person, we will continue to broadcast this Mass live on Facebook live (see below for further details).

Registration Required for Mass Attendance

The Province has allowed gatherings of 200 people. With social distancing, SMB can only accommodate safely 70 people. Thus you will need to pre-register with the Parish Office as we can only accommodate those who have registered before hand.

  • registration to attend a weekend mass will be by phone (902-826-2696)

  • volunteers will be available to take your call on Tuesdays 1-3 pm and Wednesdays 10 am-12 pm to register for an upcoming weekend mass.

  • you can also leave a message on Tuesday evenings only. Please do not leave a message to register outside of these hours

  • An individual can only register himself/herself and/or members of the same household.

  • As much as possible, members of the same household will have to sit together.

  • If you leave a message, please leave your name, telephone number, the # attending and sitting together and their full names

  • If you leave have to leave a message to register, you will be contacted only if we do not have room.

  • If the Mass of your choice is full, your name will be added to next week’s Mass

What to Expect When Coming to Mass

  • There will be a line up outside, and we ask that you remain 2 m apart as you wait to enter. The front doors will open at 10:45 am.

  • Masks are to be worn at all times in the church

  • Your attendance will be checked off on our registration list for contact tracing.

  • you’ll be brought to your seat in a designated pew by an usher. You will be asked to remain in your pew for the duration of Mass, so as to limit the number of people moving around the building. To ensure physical distancing, the Archdiocese has asked that people not sit on the ends of the pews. Also, we ask that you not use the bathroom facilities, except in the event of an emergency.

  • We ask that you refrain from using the kneelers as these are hard for our volunteers to clean.

  • The priest will begin Mass by entering the sanctuary from the side, so as to limit physical contact with the congregation.

  • There will be no music at Mass, as singing provides a significant opportunity for particles to be projected from your mouth.

  • When it comes time for Communion, stay in your pew and an usher will direct you to the center aisle to receive Communion. Communion will only be distributed in the hand. There will be no Communion on the tongue. Those receiving Communion are instructed to remove their masks from one ear and while the person ahead of them is receiving Holy Communion, so as to avoid any opportunity of contamination. (Please note that Communion to the Homebound is suspended at this time, as per the Archdiocese’s guidelines.) Once Communion is received you are asked to exit following the directions given by usher or floor signs.

  • For your donation, there will be a basket for your offering.

  • As you exit, you are asked to proceed straight to your vehicle or to the sidewalk, as we aren’t able to socialize in the foyer after Mass at this time.

  • People with health issues need not attend Mass. If you are sick, especially with a fever, colds, the flu, or feeling poorly for any reason – PLEASE, STAY HOME. It is not just about your health – it is also about the health of others. Seniors are most welcome but are invited to use the utmost prudence and discretion, because of the danger of contagion. Please, remember that the Archbishop dispensed people from the obligation to attend Mass in this time of danger of contagion.

We will continue to communicate updates, changes and guidelines as we progress and ask that you stay in touch and informed. Finally, we pray for trust and hope as God continues to guide and lead us in our journey of faith:

Holy Apostles Live Stream Mass

We will continue to livestream Mass each week during at 11 am on Sundays even as we start to open the Masses to parishioners. This will be on Facebook Live. Go to St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Parish on Facebook ( smbptantallon ). If you don't have a Facebook account you can go to www.facebook.com/watch and enter smbptantallon in  'search videos' box. We thank you for your patience as we learn this new means of communication.

If you can't join live, the recording of Mass will remain on Facebook and you can watch by going to https://www.facebook.com/smbptantallon/videos (this may also work to connect to the Livestream but we have not been able to test that yet).

Mass intentions for the Livestream Mass.
We will try to set up the Live connection at 10:45 am so people have a chance to get connected before Mass starts. At this time, if you have any prayer intercession that you would the Parish to pray for during the Mass, you can put it in the comments before Mass starts.

Comments during Mass
If you are watching the Livestream Mass and you find the comments on the side distracting, there is an option on the bottom right of your screen to shut them off.

Click the little gear wheel and select 'Close all chat tabs'.

An Act of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus,
I believe that You
are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there
and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.
